✦ Synopsis
Abstract
This article presents a time‐domain approach of the single‐antenna method for ultra‐wide band (UWB) antennas. The proposed differential technique separates forward, reverse, and received signals at the antenna input. A post‐processing technique was also derived, to extract far‐field response from measured data. Experimental and computed results are included. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract We have proposed a compact filter‐combined ultra‐wide band antenna for the use of DS‐UWB low band or MB‐OFDM lower three bands (3.1–5.2 GHz). The designed antenna has a microstrip‐fed trapezoidal radiating patch, UWB band pass filter using the dumbbell‐shaped DGS (defected ground struct
A new time-domain technique for determining the radiation Q of an antenna is presented. The time integral of power returning to the antenna from the standing energy field upon source turn off is determined numerically, and is used as a measure of the peak standing energy for Q determination.
## Abstract A diamond‐shaped compact, planar ultra‐wide band (UWB) antenna with measured free‐space frequency bandwidth of 3.80 to 11.85 GHz is presented. Design features for achieving UWB with small geometrical features and antenna performance in some coupling medium have been investigated to veri
