✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel ultra‐wideband monopole antenna is presented in this article. The radiation element of the proposed antenna is composed of dual‐ring connected by several metallic via holes. The structure of the radiating ground is a rectangle with two rounding chamfers. They are printed on the substrate with dielectric permittivity of 2.65. Radiation characteristics of the proposed antenna are studied. The results show that the proposed antenna has favorable ultra‐wide band‐related performances. The proposed antenna serves as a good candidate for the future design of ultra‐wide band antennas. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
