The complexation of various flavonoids with cyclodextrins and cyclodextrin derivatives was studied using thin layer chromatography on cellulose. The results indicate that the flavonoids examined do not complex readily with β£-cyclodextrin or with succinylated β£-cyclodextrin. However, most do complex

β¦ Synopsis
A thin layer chromatography experiment of medical importance is described. The experiment involves extraction of lipids from simulated amniotic fluid samples followed by separation, detection, and scanning of the lecithin and sphingomyelin bands on TLC plates. The lecithin-to-sphingomyelin ratio is calculated. The clinical significance of this number is discussed. Since this is a procedure that is often performed in medical laboratories, most of the supplies and materials for the experiment are commercially available in kit form.

## Abstract A thinβlayer chromatographic method has been developed for the quantitative determination of poly(oxypropylene diols) present in poly(oxypropylene triols). The polyols are separated on silica gel plates in a modified developing chamber using ethyl acetate as the developer. Quantitative
