β¦ Synopsis
The complexation of various flavonoids with cyclodextrins and cyclodextrin derivatives was studied using thin layer chromatography on cellulose. The results indicate that the flavonoids examined do not complex readily with β£-cyclodextrin or with succinylated β£-cyclodextrin. However, most do complex with β€-cyclodextrin, succinylated β€-cyclodextrin, succinylated β₯-cyclodextrin, β£-cyclodextrin polymer, β€-cyclodextrin polymer and β₯-cyclodextrin polymer. With β₯-cyclodextrin elongated trails are obtained, suggesting that the kinetics are somewhat slower.

The complexation of ferrocene and several ferrocene derivatives with the hosts a-cyclodextrin (a-CD) and b-cyclodextrin (b-CD) was investigated by electrospray mass spectrometry. A 2:1 complex was detected between a-CD and ferrocene while a 1:1 complex was observed with b-CD and this organometallic
