We have studied the anisotropy of transport critical current densities J¢ and pinning properties for YBa~CuaOT-s single-crystal thin films in magnetic fields H up to 12 T as a function of angle between//and the crystal axes. The observed angular dependence of J¢ agreed with the intrinsic pinning mo

✦ Synopsis
c-axis oriented single crystalline YBazCU3OT. ~ and Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu30~o thin films were patterned for transport measurements to determine the critical current density J~"t'(H,T,0). Film to film variations of J~ were compared for a large number of YBCO samples to assess the dominant influence on the magnitude of J~ and possible correlations with the film growth conditions. A comparison of J~(0) for YBCO and Bi-2223 demonstrates the fundamental differences in their flux line lattice, especially at high temperatures.

The improvement of the critical current density in YBCO coated conductor tapes necessarily concerns the study of grain boundary (GB) properties and the study of different pinning mechanisms involving both GB and the interior of the grain (IG). Recently, it has been proposed that the introduction of
For applications of YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7Àx (YBCO) thin films, the critical current density (J c ) should be improved by introducing pinning centers into YBCO thin films. We prepared YBCO films on SrTiO 3 (1 0 0) and MgO(1 0 0) substrates by means of pulsed laser deposition in order to study the flux pinni
We have studied SmBa 2 Cu 3 O y (Sm123) thin films fabricated by low temperature growth (LTG) technique. The critical current densities (J c s) in magnetic fields at 77 K of the LTG-Sm123 film embedded nanosized low-T c particles (NLP) were comparable to that of NbTi wire at 4.2 K. Furthermore, at l
