In Spring 1990, the Institutional Ethics Committee (EC) and the Department of Bioethics (DB) at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF) conducted an "Ethics Resources Awareness and Effectiveness Survey."
The study was undertaken to determine [1] if medical staff, nurses and other care givers at the Cleveland Clinic were aware of available ethics resources, and [2] if efforts of the DB and the EC had been helpful and effective. Presented here are the survey's objectives and methodology, including significant findings and resultant action steps.
