β¦ Synopsis
For the structural analysis of the polymer having a 3-methylsulfinylpropionyl group (PVAcSOMe) obtained from the precursor sulfide polymer, NMR ('H and 13C) behaviors of its model compounds, methyl 3-methylthiopropionate (l), methyl 3-methylsulfinylpropionate
(2) and methyl 3-methylsulfonylpropionate (3) were examined. In 'H-NMR spectra of the 3 compounds, the overlaps of the peaks were observed between protons underlined in CH$SO CH2CH2, CHSCH2 CH2, and CH3S02CH2CH2, while in their r3C-NMR spectra, the overlap of chemical shifts of all carbons was not observed. From the relation between pulse delay and peak-area ratios the quantitativeness of "C-NMR was checked. The structural analysis of the sulfoxide polymers was found indirectly by means of 'H-NMR spectroscopy (the mathematical treatment of peak areas) and directly by means of 13C-NMR spectroscopy.

The axial band gap of 1.55 eV calculated for the undoped polymer is close to those calculated for the structurally similar
## Abstract The __orthoβ__positronium (__o__βPs) lifetime was measured as a function of temperature for the perfluorinated PEMs Nafion NR212 and Aquivion E8705. The __o__βPs lifetime in Aquivion E8705 was found to be shorter than Nafion NR212 in the entire temperature range studied. Abrupt changes
From a thermodynamic relation that involves the generalized relaxation function, an approximated method that allows estimation of the thermal dependence of the imaginary part of the general complex susceptibility from the real part is discussed. Several conditions such as broad distribution of relax
