โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
In this research, with a view to threeโdimensional image reconstruction, a method for tracking the coordinates of the tomographic image plane is investigated by drawing attention to the shift and variation of the speckle pattern in the Bโmode image. In this method, the shift vector in the arrayโrange plane is estimated from the coordinates of the peak of the mutual correlation of the image acquired in the time series, and the shift along the slice direction is estimated from the decrease of the correlation coefficient. As a result, the threeโdimensional shift vector is estimated. Experiments are carried out with the data for phantoms simulating biological tissues and for breast tissue as a representative of real biological tissue. The effectiveness of the method is confirmed. ยฉ 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Electron Comm Jpn Pt 3, 85(12): 1โ8, 2002; Published online in Wiley InterScience (www.interscience.wiley.com).
