β¦ Synopsis
The method of Probe Beam Reflection (PBD) was investigated using a small copper refining system as a model. The experimental beam bending results were interpreted in different ways to illustrate the method and its applicabilities for measuring the concentration profiles in free convection cases. A new simpler method for evaluating the profiles is presented together with the possibility to use the technique when several concentration profiles are occurring in a system.
