✦ Synopsis

Emlsslons of Ihe hydroperoxyl radical 1102 in the spectral range from 1.0 to 1.G pm wcrc studied ~1 low and medium r~s~luiion. The resolved spectrum shows the expected paralkl band structure for the vibratronal ovcrtonc tianlitlon 2A"C?00-000): in the cxc of the vlbronic transitions 2A', 000-2A",000 and 2A',001 + 2 .4",000, however, comparison of experimental and computer simulated spectra shows that there also occur intense subbands with AK = 0, in addition to the ordinary AK = + 1 transitions. The cause for the break-down of the type-C selection rule is not well known. In the redction system of ethylene with discharged ouygx~ vibronic bands could bc obscrvcd or&z:' g from *A' lcvcl5 up to at lcast u> = 6. Tile most probable eucltation mechanism for these hgh vibronic levels is the chcmilumincsccnt reaction HCO f Oz(t Ag) -C HOZ(~A', OOu>) + CO. From the computer fits to the spectra of HO2 and DO2 at medium resolution the origins of the 000-000 bands and the fundamental frequencies ci of the excited 2A' state could be determined; the Values are i;b(HOz) = 7028 +. 3 cm-t, co(DO2) = 7034 + 8 cm-', Gi(HO2) = 927 .c 10 cm-l, and zi(DO2) = 940 + 28 cm-'. The high-resolution infrared spectrum of deuterated iodoacetylene has been measured in the region 200-2700 cm 01 . In addition to all five fundamentals, the bands 2n 0 4 and 2n 0 5 have been identified. The measurements were carried out by using a Fourier transform spectrometer at room temperature w
