A novel technique for determining the development of stress at the steelcement interface for thin cement paste coatings is briefly described. A series of interfacial stress-hydration time curves are presented for three matrix systems: cement + silica fume, cement + calcium carbonate, and tricalcium

Dynamic polarization techniques were used to estimate the corrosion rates of steel embedded in cement paste made with different binder systems. A corrosion model is proposed. The corrosion rates were determined by employing the Evans diagrams constructed from cathodic polarization curve of steel emb
This report describes our efforts to analyze cement pastes for triethanolamine. This analysis can be efficiently accomplished after short hydration times (ca. 3 min. ) by gas chromatography or infrared spectroscopy. Only trace amounts of the amine are detected, however, after 24 hours of hydration.
