AbstracG-Based

on Eftis and Liebowitz's empirical formula for a load-displacement curve, a method for determining .& of mild steel from the maximum load point on P-A curve was proposed. The effect of subcritical crack growth was considered. The test results on two kinds of steel were compared with the results of the standard multiple specimen method.
