Abstract

A simple method for the synthesis of 3‐hydroxypicolinic acid and 4‐hydroxynicotinic acid via the cyano compounds starting from 3‐hydroxy‐2‐iodo‐ or 4‐hydroxy‐3‐iodopyridine, is described.
