โฆ Synopsis
Profilin has been purified from bovine thyroid by a new and simple method, employing affinity chromatography on DNase I-agarose and gel filtration. This procedure should be particularly useful for purifying profilin from tissues in which it is present in relatively low concentration because it does not depend on the initial purification of protilactin (profilinactin complex). Thyroid protilin, similar to profilin from other tissues, inhibits the initial rate and the final extent of actin polymerization.
