โฆ Synopsis
The present work proposes a novel apparatus for determining the elevation and direction of the sun. The working principle of the apparatus employs the simple theory of straight-line movement of sun rays. Solar radiation has also been evaluated using this apparatus. The results of the present apparatus have shown resemblance as high as 97% with the results obtainable from the available mathematical methods. The mathematical methods appear to be less accurate because of the inaccuracies of regional meteorological and geographical data used in expressions for the computer program.
