✦ Synopsis
The title compound, [Ag(NH 3 ) 2 ](C 7 H 4 NO 4 ), is a mononuclear silver(I) complex with two cations and two anions in the asymmetric unit. The cations have almost linear coordination geometry with two ammine ligands and are linked into centrosymmetric pairs by weak AgÁ Á ÁAg interactions. In the crystal structure, the cations and anions are linked together through NÐHÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional structure.

## Abstract An all solid‐state Ag(I) ion‐selective electrode has been prepared by simply immersing a glassy carbon rod coated with PVCAc, which contained plasticizer and additive but no ionophore, into the AgNO~3~ solution. The response of the electrode was linear with a Nernstian slope of 60.25 mV
