โฆ Synopsis
The adaptive control literature contains hundreds of technical papers on many different approaches to the subject. However, engineers who are not specialists in adaptive theory often have difficulty selecting which approach to use in any given problem. This series of papers addresses this situation by defining a set of standard problems which are then solved by several distinct approaches to adaptive control. This introductory paper defines the problems and guidelines which have been used in this process.

Both dynamic state feedback as well as output feedback tracking control designs are presented in this paper for constrained robot systems under parametric uncertainties and external disturbances. The previous studies on tracking control design, not considering the velocity measurements, address only
Recently, a new class of adaptive control schemes based on non-linear design techniques, have been proposed for minimum phase linear time invariant plants. Under certain assumptions on the plant transfer function, these schemes guarantee uniform signal boundedness and good transient and steady-state
Recently, a design of model matching and adaptive control systems under the presence of measurement noise employing a nonminimal order state observer was reported. But this method cannot be used for the case where the plant has deterministic disturbances. In this paper, we will show that the idea is
