โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel dualโband shorted microstrip antenna suitable for 2.4 and 5.2 GHz operation is presented. The obtained impedance bandwidths for the two operating frequencies meet the bandwidth requirements of the wireless LAN (2400โ2484 MHz) and HIPERLAN (5150โ5350 MHz) systems. The lower and upper operating frequencies are the first two resonant frequencies of the proposed antenna, and the antenna length is approximately equal to oneโquarter wavelength of the lower operating frequency at 2.4 GHz. The antenna has a low profile (4 mm in height), and occupies a small area of 18ร27 mm^2^. The design considerations and radiation characteristics of the proposed antenna are presented.โยฉ 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 30: 401โ402, 2001.
