✦ Synopsis
A very sensitive radioisotope method, using 1251-labelled serum albumin as substrate, is proposed for the detection of very low enzymatic activities released from insoluble matrix to eluate, storage media and washings after an immobilization procedure.
In the case of papain, proteolytic activities corresponding to about O.lpg of enzyme per ml can be detected.
In contrast, simple imnunochemical techniques did not give any increase in sensitivity in papain determination compared with the conventional modified Anson method.
