✦ Synopsis
A rapid, sensitive single-step assay for y-glutamyl transferase is presented using L-Yglutamyl-7-amino-4-methyl-coumarin as the donor substrate. Kinetic parameters and the relative activities with different acceptors were determined using this substrate. The results are compared with those obtained with an alternative substrate, L-y-glutamyl-2-naphthylamide.
