✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A simple and compact microstrip‐fed ultra wideband printed monopole antenna is proposed and investigated. The proposed antenna is composed of a circular‐ring fed by a microstrip line and a multistep ground. The measured bandwidth of voltage‐standing wave ratio < 2 is from 3.0 to 12.0 GHz. The transfer functions of antenna systems are given experimentally. The parametric studies are performed numerically in this article. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
