✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A review of the literature on the particulation of a jet from a shaped charge liner is presented. Particular emphasis is placed on existing, open literature, analytical models designed to predict the jet breakup time. Also, the various experimental techniques used to obtain the distribution of jet breakup times are elucidated.

The Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) framework coupled with a direct boundary tracking technique is proven as an effective method for simulation of capillary jet breakup. In this paper, an alternative derivation of ALE is proposed by introducing instantaneous inertial coordinates. Several improve
