When an โฃ-seleno carbonyl compound was reacted with an aldehyde in the presence of TiCl 4 and Ph 3 P, a highly stereoselective formation of an aldol derivative could be realized. Highly stereoselective reactions of b-trimethylsilylsulfoxides were also described.
