A simple, rapid, and sensitive spectrophotometric assay of phosphoribosylpyrophosphate synthetase activity is described. This assay is based on the quantitative measurement of the reaction product AMP by a NADH-coupled enzyme method.

A rapid enzymatic assay method for ammonia was developed by using glutamine synthetase from glutamate-producing bacteria together with pyruvate kinase, lactate dehydrogenase, and NADH. The time required for determination of 25 nmol of ammonia was 5 min with 1 unit of glutamine synthetase, as opposed
The development of a coupled enzyme assay for the determination of isopenicilhn N synthetase activity in purified extracts from Cephalosporium acremonium was described. Isopenicillin N formed from its precursor, 8-(t-cr-aminoadipyl)-t-cysteinyl-o-valine (ACV), by the synthetase was hydrolyzed by @-l
In this paper we describe a fluorimetric assay for the measurement of long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase activity in rat liver postnuclear supernatants. The method is based upon the use of acyl-CoA oxidase which catalyzes the dehydrogenation of acyl-CoA esters to yield enoyl-CoA esters and H2O2. H2O2 su
