In order to gain some insight into the mechanisms of the thermal transformations ## I+11 and I-III1 the rearrangements of several substituted bicyclo[3.2.1]acts-2,6-dienes were studied. Results are given in Table 1.
A novel C&l-assisted coupling reaction 9f i-chloro-l-aryloyl-3,3-diarylallene (2) and two new thermal cyclization reactiom ti,P 1,1,4,4-tetraaryl-3,6-diaryloylhexa-1,2-diene-5-yne (L) are described.
