✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A folded quarter‐wavelength stepped impedance resonator (SIR) is proposed with a largely reduced size. A bandpass filter with center frequency of 1.85 GHz using the SIRs is designed, fabricated, and measured. This compact filter covers an area less than 10 mm × 10 mm, which makes it suitable for compact and high‐performance microwave circuit applications. © Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
