โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

A compact branch line coupler (BLC) using four coupled transmission lines is introduced. The loaded part of the proposed model has a same performance with a cascade two unit elements and it is equaled by a quarter wavelength line. The quarter wavelength lines of each branch in the conventional coupler are replaced by an equivalent circuit composed of a four coupled transmission line and two transmission lines. A compact branchโ€line coupler (BLC) is designed, analyzed, and tested using this technique. The size reduction is about 65% with comparable performance. The measurement results are in good agreement with the theoretical ones. ยฉ 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract The concept of doubleโ€Lorentz (DL) transmission lines (TL) provides two additional degrees of freedom in realizing triband microwave devices. The triband operation is accomplished by the flexible phase slope characteristic of the DL TL with the frequency. In this article, the theory, de

## Abstract A compact branchโ€line coupler (BLC) with a size reduction of about 70% of a conventional BLC has been introduced. The coupler has been designed using a defected ground structure (DGS). No bonding wire or via holes have been used. The simulation results have been verified by measurement
