## Abstract The effect of hydrostatic pressure on nickel corrosion in sea water and in similar solutions has been investigated. By increasing the hydrostatic pressure, the corrosion rate of nickel increases in 0.58 M NaCl and in 0.1 M Na~2~SO~4~ and decreases in 0.01 M Na~2~SO~4~ and in sea water.

The present paper is part of a research program aimed at determming the role played by the molybdenum in steel alloys. Seven different iron-base alloys were used containing molybdenum in the range of 0% to 25% wt. Various corrosion techniques were employed, including: weight loss measurements in sta
Specimens of a new low energy cement of which the authors of this paper have reported on preceding publications, have been submitted to durability tests in order to study the behaviour of the new cement in Na2SO. and sea water media. The results obtained from these tests have ~een compared with the
Study of the dependence on concentration of the reduced viscosity of carboxymethylcelluloses (CMC), in the absence of added salts and down to relative viscosity 1.01, leads to two typical parameters of the polyion. The molecular dimensions of H-CMC and Na-CMC have been determined from these two para
