โฆ Synopsis
Simple inequalities satisfied by the dissociation energy of the excitonic molccuIa are derived. They provide a useM check on the validity of calculated dissociation cncr@x.
Recently, increasing interest has been attached to the excitonic moIecule, a complex consisting of two electrons and two positive holes. This is due to the developments ofexperimentzrl techniques for producing excitons in high concentration and, especially, for observing Bose condensation of excitonic molecules [I]. S&n-ma [2] calcuIated, for the first time, the dissociation energy W of the excitonic molecule as ix function of the electron-to-hole effective mass ratio u. However, his resdts are in contradiction to the condition [3]

New assignments of vibrational levels near dissociation in the Blxi state of H2 indicate the .vibrationai quantum number is proportional to the one-sixth power of the binding energy, as expected theoretically from the long-range r -j behavior of the internuclear potential. This paper points out a serious inaccuracy in the calculation by Chakrabarti, Bhattacharyya, Datta and Saha of the two-photon photodissociation amplitude of HD+. The error lies in the omission, in the velocity gauge, of a delta-function term in the integratlon, for large radii, over intermediate sta
