For the multivariate log-concave distribution, it is shown that the hazard gradient is increasing in the sense of Johnson and Kotz. As an immediate consequence, the result of Gupta and Gupta (1997) on the multivariate normal hazard is obtained.

Suppose X,, X,, ..., X, are independent and identically distributed random variables with absolutely continuous distribution function F. It is known that if F is standard normal distribution then (i) 2 X : is a chi-square with n degrees of freedom and (ii) nX2 is a chi-square with 1 degrees of freed
## Abstract The normalβacid method for the estimation of fibre in roughages by single acid digestion has been reβexamined. Increasing the time of digestion from 1 to 3 h. gives a marked improvement in the correlation with digestibility. Changes in technique are also introduced which make the method
