โœฆ Synopsis

Editing of curved line drawings such as contour maps is operationally different than the editing of text or patterns. Existing techniques for the editing of line drawings are based on locating, replacing, and deleting blocks of patterns. Such techniques are not always convenient for users who wish to edit a single line, segments of which may occur in several different blocks of patterns. It is shown in this note that the concept of geometric continuity can be applied to develop convenient algorithms for the editing of curved line drawings.

This paper investigates the basic properties of the class of neighborhood-uniform node label controlled (NUNLC) graph grammars. The class of NUNLC grammars is distinguished by requiring a very natural restriction on the connection relations of NLC grammars. The restriction implies the "Church-Rosser
