✦ Synopsis

Abstract

This letter presents a new aperture coupled microstrip antenna with a nonsymmetric U‐shaped feed line and two rectangular slots on the ground plane. Simulation results show that the antenna has VSWR <2 from 10.5 to 22 GHz and the simulated gain bandwidth (above 7 dB) of the antenna is 6.6 GHz (47%). Good agreement is obtained between simulation and experimental results. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A novel ultra‐wideband wide‐slot antenna fed with a microstrip‐line is presented. The antenna is composed of a circular microstrip patch and a semicircular arc cut on the ground of the microstrip line. The measured results show that the proposed antenna has an impedance bandwidth of mor
