β¦ Synopsis
A new squalene-derived triterpenoid, raspacionin (1). has been isolated from the sponge Ruspaciona acufcata. The structure of 1, characterized by two trans-perhydrobenzoxepine moieties linked by an ethylene brigde. was suggested by spectral evidence and unambigously established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
