✦ Synopsis

Aryl and heteroaryl boronic acids react with the adducts of amines and glyoxylic acid to give the corresponding o~-aryl and a-heteroaryl glycine derivatives. Several examples of this reaction with m-and p-substituted aryl boronic acids as well as 3-thienyl, 2-thienyl, 2-furyl, 2-benzo[b]furyl and 2-benzo[bJthienyl boronic acids are described.
