An analysis of the l3 C NMR spectra of bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids of the berbamine type shows the dependence of spectroscopic properties on preferred conformation. Apart from the interesting pharmacological activity shown by some members2, the bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids form a particularly
