## Abstract A matrix with positive row sums and all its off‐diagonal elements bounded above by their corresponding row averages is called a __B__‐matrix by J. M. Peña in References (__SIAM J. Matrix Anal. Appl.__ 2001; **22**:1027–1037) and (__Numer. Math.__ 2003; **95**:337–345). In this paper, it

✦ Synopsis
A new subclass of P-matrices is stated for which it is easy to calculate bounds for the solution of a linear complementarity problem where the input data of the linear complementarity problem are not exactly known but can be enclosed in intervals. This new class of matrices properly contains all H-matrices with positive diagonal entries and is properly contained in the class of P-matrices.
