N-(1-Naphthyl)ethylenediamine dihydrochloride dissolved in sulfuric acid-methanol is used as a reagent for determination of sugars on thin-layer plates. The quantification process involves a linear expansion giving a straight calibration line, the equation of which is (peak areas)= = p (amount); the
