β¦ Synopsis
Abstraet--A new method of measuring specific refractive index increments is presented. The method is based upon the components of a normal GPC or HPLC apparatus. The applicability of this method is examined by measurements with the system KCl-water. Further the results of measurements on a polymer-solvent system (polystyrene-cyclohexane) at various temperatures are reported.

Differential refractometry has been used to obtain accurate values of the specific refractive index increments for the following polymers in several solvents: polystyrene, poly(methyl methacrylate), poly(4-vinyl pyridine), block copolymers of styrene with methyl methacrylate and of styrene with 4-vi
A novel experimental technique for the measurement of the nonlinear refractive index coefficient, n 2 , based on the detection of self-phase modulation phase shift by means of an all-fiber Sagnac interferometer, is proposed. Measurements performed on dispersion-shifted fibers clearly indicate that t
