✦ Synopsis

The title amino acid was obtained by regiospecific ring-opening reaction of Bocdiprotocted 1,4,7-tfiazacyolononane with (S)-2-benzyloxTcarbonylamino-~3-1actone ~80% isolated yield) followed by deprotection. It strongly binds transition metal ions like Zn and Cu n and can be incorporated in peptide sequences without affecting the metal ion affinity of the triazamaorocyde.

We report here the synthesis of 3,7-disubstituted perhydro-1,4-diazepine-2,5-diones from amino acids and b-amino acids using a backbone amide linker (BAL) as a cis-configuration inductor. We have optimized each steps of the synthesis on solid support using Mimotopes crowns.
