✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A new bandpass filter that is composed of two‐stage microstrip‐ring resonators with a center frequency of 5.775 GHz and a bandwidth of 100 MHz is presented in this paper. For the suppression of unnecessary harmonics, low‐pass filters are integrated into a microstrip‐ring resonator. A harmonic suppression ratio of about 35 dB for this structure is obtained. Also, a varactor‐tuned microstrip‐ring bandpass filter with harmonic suppression is suggested, and an insertion loss of 6 dB and a tuning bandwidth of 450 MHz are obtained. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. ## Abstract This paper describes the microstrip stepped‐impedance resonator (SIR) bandpass filter with an over‐coupling structure for the suppression of spurious response at twice the center frequency (2f~__0__~). In addition, the tapped I/O is used in the filter to create the extra transmission ze
