Abstract

Reaction of N‐substituted amides of 2‐chloro‐ or 4‐chloronicotinic acid with CH‐acidic nitriles in the presence of a base provides a convenient access to amino derivatives of 1,6‐naphthyrid‐5(6__H__)‐one, compounds of type 4 and 5, or 2,7‐naphthyrid‐1(2__H__)‐one 7.
