โœฆ Synopsis

Two-photon

resonant three-photon ionization is employed to study the rotational relaxation of NH, in a pulsed supersonic expansion. The different NH, nuclear spin modifications (ortho-para) do not interconvert and relax at different rates. Para relaxation is more efficient than ortho relaxation as evidenced by a higher rotational temperature for the ortho spin modification.

We have investigated the rotational relaxation of NH3 in N&-He supersonic expansions by means of opto-thermal spectroscopy. Molecules are excited in the v,+ Y., band, around 5100 cm-', using the third Stokes line of a Raman-shifted pulsed laser. Rotational distributions are measured for different va

The photodesorption of NH3 from GaAs (100) at 193 nm has been characterized using 2 + 1 resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization (REMPI) spectroscopy via the intermediate B state.
