INTRODUCTION. TEM studies of isolated cell cultures are performed after processing of the samples through a number of stages. In oun laboratory, the fixed cells are initially packed in agar, collagen and other media rendering ensuing processing of the materials easier for embedding in epoxy resin.
A simple device is described that aids the processing of large numbers of tissue blocks for light or electron microscopy. The device has a number of compartments into which different tissue blocks can be placed. Each compartment has a fine mesh floor, allowing the free exchange of the reagents used
