The paper deals with steam turbine diagnostics. A general diagnostic model has been developed from a cybernetic model of a turbine. A vibrodiagnostic model is described, which makes it possible to determine malfunction-symptom relations. An example is given of the practical application of this model in presenting the relation between changes in turbine shaft alignment and the amplitude of the second harmonic.
