## Abstract The healing of an injured musculoskeletal system requires an influx of mesenchymal cells that can differentiate into osteoblasts, fibroblasts, chondroblasts, and skeletal myoblasts. However, whether these mesenchymal cells arise from the circulation (bone marrow) or the injured tissues
