## Abstract This article considers the timeβdependent optimal control problem of tracking the velocity for the viscous incompressible flows which is governed by a Ladyzhenskaya equations with distributed control. The existence of the optimal solution is shown and the firstβorder optimality conditio

β¦ Synopsis
We study a mixed finite element approximation of a model proposed by Ladyzhenskaya for stationary incompressible viscous flow. We give existence and uniqueness results for the continuous problem and its approximation and we prove error bounds which improve the existing ones. Finally, some numerical results are presented.

## Abstract A simple mixed finite element method is developed. The finite element is a rectangular triangle and rectangle. In the element the deflections are assumed to be simple fourβelement polynomials, bending moments, __M__~__x__~ and __M__~__y__~ with a partially linear distribution, and a con
