โœฆ Synopsis

A miniature pulse tube refrigerator reaching temperatures below 100K has been developed. In this paper the test results of the refrigerator are reported. The refrigerator is a orifice pulse tube refrigerator. It is based on a miniature Stifling refrigerator. It consists of a compressor, a cold head and a reservoir. The features are high operating frequency and compact size. The lowest temperature is achieved to 98K.

A novel multiple staging configuration for the pulse tube refrigerator is described for increasing its performance and simplicity. To decrease both the regenerator loss and pulse tube loss, a regenerative tube was developed for operating the pulse tube from room temperature to liquid helium temperat

Based on the discussion of the matching problems between the prime mover and pulse tube, a self-made standing-wave thermoacoustic prime mover is used to drive a coaxial single-stage pulse tube refrigerator. A lowest refrigeration temperature of 138 K was obtained from the preliminary tests in 1999.

The pulse tube reported in this paper is 5 mm in inner diameter and 50 mm in length with an effective tube volume of about 0.4cm3. The coaxial design is used to minimize its dimensions and nylon tube is used to decrease heat transfer between the pulse tube and the surrounding regenerator. It was op

The design of a double inlet pulse tube refrigerator is investigated by means of an analogy with an electric circuit. The results obtained are compared with both those of the thermodynamic model (Part A) and experiments. The basic formulation of equivalent electronic components is discussed and a fe
