โœฆ Synopsis

The interfacing of a commercially available microcomputer (Commodore PET) to a powerful r.f. pulse transmitter-receiver system is described. The microprocessor implementation, control of frequency and digitization of the received A-scans render rapid multifrequency operation of the system possible and greatly enhance the ability of the equipment to explore radio-propagation in the lower ionosphere. This note concentrates on the application of a microcomputer to this task and details the use of VLSI interface chips in specially designed hardware.

Development of a highly flexible microprocessor-based system is described, which is capable of controlling traffic on all three-and four-way road junctions, every day of the week (e.g. full and half working days as well as Sundays and holidays), under all traffic conditions (peak, off-peak, etc.). C
