โœฆ Synopsis

A simple, easy-to assemble gradient generator for capillary electrochromatography is described. Using a homologous mixture of alkylphenones and a macroporous polyacrylic separation matrix, we demonstrate the feasibility of either stepwise or continuous gradients to be performed in a reproducible manner.

A new type of open-tubular C(18) ester-bonded electrochromatographic column was prepared with sol-gel technology, followed by an on-column octadecyl silylation reaction. Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane, a widely used and important silane agent, was used as the sol-gel precursor to form a thin coatin

Particle-loaded (3 lm, octadecylsilica) monolithic sol-gel columns have been prepared and selected characteristics measured. Several electrical properties may be calculated from simple current measurements in the column as a whole. Resistivity in the packed segment is approximately three times that
