β¦ Synopsis
A numerical technique based on the 'least-square error method' for evaluating fluxes and other surface-layer parameters is proposed. The special feature of this method is that it does not require a prior knowledge of the temperature profile. It can, in fact, be used to predict the temperature profile. The only other input parameter is the value of the roughness length z0 which has to be specified beforehand.
This method has been tested on both the Kansas and the Wangara experimental data. Good agreement on fluxes and the Monin-Obukhov length compared with those obtained from direct measurements is obtained.

## Abstract It is conventional to describe the relationship between the specific rate of microbial growth and the concentration of the inhibitory substrate in terms of the AndrewsβEdwards equation. A novel method for establishing the constants of this equation is presented. The equation is transfor
The vertical temperature profile in the lower atmosphere was determined at heights from 60 cm to 180 cm from estimates of optical refraction obtained from photographs of illuminated targets over the ice of Lake Mendota, Madison, Wisconsin, during the winter of 1968. The targets consist of several eq
